Des outils pour développeurs qui tournent dans votre navigateur

QweDevBox is a collection of 36 developer tools for the small conversions and checks that come up every day: formatting a JSON response, decoding a JWT, testing a regular expression, reading a cron schedule or comparing two config files.

Why this site exists

Most of these tasks take ten seconds, but searching for a tool often lands on a page that asks you to upload your data, sign in, or wait for a server round trip. Pasting a production token or a customer CSV into an unknown server is a risk most teams would rather not take.

Every tool here runs in your browser with JavaScript. The page loads once, and after that your input is processed on your own device. You can disconnect from the network after opening a tool and it keeps working, with the one exception of the My IP Address tool, which has to ask a server what address it sees.

How the tools are built

Each tool is a small screen on top of a plain function that takes text and returns text. The functions follow the relevant standards where one exists: RFC 8259 for JSON, RFC 4648 for Base64, RFC 7519 for JWT, RFC 9562 for UUID and RFC 5280 for X.509 certificates, and URLs are parsed with the WHATWG URL Standard that browsers implement. SHA hashes use the browser Web Crypto API, MD5 (which Web Crypto does not offer) has its own implementation, and random values come from crypto.getRandomValues, the same source browsers use for cryptographic keys.

The conversion logic is covered by automated tests that run before every release, including edge cases such as invalid input, non-ASCII text, empty values and very large numbers. When a tool cannot process an input it says why, for example the line and column of a JSON syntax error, instead of returning a silently wrong result.

A few tools rely on open source libraries, such as YAML parsing, CSV parsing, Markdown rendering and QR code encoding. The full list with licenses is on the open source licenses page.

Languages and saved work

The interface is available in English, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, German, French and Brazilian Portuguese. Every tool page also has a description, usage steps and answers to common questions in each of these languages.

Your last input and options for each tool are saved in your browser's local storage, so you can close the tab and come back to the same state. Nothing is stored on a server, and clearing the site data in your browser removes it.

Games

game.qwedevbox.com has small party tools such as a ladder game, spin the wheel, draw lots, team splitting and dice. The ladder, wheel and lots games can be shared with a link so that everyone in a meeting sees the same result.

Advertising

The site is free and paid for by advertising. Ads are shown in a fixed slot above each tool so they do not move the input or output panels. The privacy policy explains how Google AdSense uses cookies and how to opt out of personalized ads.
